Mandisi Dyantyis Returns with Third Studio Album and National Tour
Multi-award-winning composer, trumpeter, and vocalist Mandisi Dyantyis celebrates his birthday this month with the announcement of his highly anticipated third studio album, Intlambululo: Ukuhlambulula, set for release on October 24th. The album launch will be followed by a national tour that will see Dyantyis perform across Johannesburg, Durban, East London, Gqeberha, and Cape Town.
A deeply spiritual and reflective body of work, Intlambululo: Ukuhlambulula translates to “purification” and represents music as a form of cleansing, renewal, and rebirth. The project explores the dualities of life — grief and hope, memory and imagination — and reflects Mandisi’s ability to weave profound storytelling through intricate compositions. Each piece invites listeners into a journey of collective healing, guided by the Xhosa proverb “Umntu yinkosi ukuzazi” — one’s power lies in self-knowledge.
To mark the release of Intlambululo: Ukuhlambulula, audiences are invited to an intimate evening with Mandisi Dyantyis and his seven-piece band. The tour will showcase an entirely new repertoire of songs — most of which will be performed for the first time — offering a deeply personal glimpse into this new chapter of his artistry.
