Watch: @THEKINGDMC Speaks On Depression

By @Spokenpriestess on 07/18/2017 in

Praise be to people in the limelight who lend their voices and platforms to the education of mental illness. Depression is a real thing and my people often misunderstand it making it hard for sufferers to open up about their demons. Darryl McDaniels, a.k.a the King Of Rock from Run DMC, has been sharing a lot about how he suffered from depression at the height of his crew's career. It can happen to anyone. People see this great person who seems successful in their life meanwhile you're dying inside with no one to tell. He speaks about how he got gripped by depression, what it did to him and how he rose from it. I can't imagine he's perfect but his strength and initiative is applauded.

"If you don't admit how you feel, you will never heal..." Part of your healing is speaking up, right after you acknowledge that you're not okay. For those of you that need help with depression or any mental illness related issues, call SADAG on 0800 21 22 23 or 0800 12 13 14 (24Hrs) and SMS 31393.
