BOOLZ is a Cape Town born and bred producer, rapper and DJ (DJ Bulelani). His production ranges from all types of influences including hip hop, kwaito, electro and a lot more. Everything in fact.
BOOLZ has been producing music since the age of 14, never lacking in inspiration or innovation 2013 saw BOOLZ release his first EP titled SOS (Straight Outta Skom) which was recorded at Khoi-Soul Studios and was released online. After his debut release BOOLZ was signed to Rude World Records, home to Jimmy Nevis and Black Vulcanite to name a few of the labels artists. Within months BOOLZ recorded and released his second offering, Bring Tha Hate along with the music video for the hit single Aphe Kapa, which catapulted him into the Cape Town mainstream becoming one of the city’s most sort after artists.
BOOLZ has since performed at the city’s biggest and most sort after events and venues such as Red Bull’s Corner To Corner, Party In The Jungle, Cold Turkey, Head Honcho’s Stay Fresh events, Lost Property, Sneaker Exchange, Mother City Live, Chez Ntemba, The Waiting Room, EVOL, YOH! And Dookoom’s EP Launch event to name but a few.
BOOLZ has been putting in work with many other artists, local and international, such as Malooon TheBoom (Switzerland) and Polish producer, Ebo La Apes and recently featured on several hit songs such as Dongivvafux by Maramza and Man Of The Year along with Blaq Slim.
In 2014, BOOLZ was invited by Red Bull Studios Cape Town to record. During this time BOOLZ recorded close to 30 songs featuring some of Cape Town’s dopest artists such as Chinga Time, Amilca, Blaq Slim, Ngola and production predominantly by himself but also by Ameen Harron, Babylon, Touch and Cosher and created the project, “Love Tha Hate.”
