It's that time of the year where all the hard work put in by our faves is debated and tallied on the MTV Base Roundtable. SA’s Hottest MCs 2016, a no-holds-barred top 10 countdown curated and compiled by MTV Base and SA Hip Hop industry giants, will air in two unmissable episodes, at 17:05 CAT on Thursday the 1st and Friday the 2nd of December on DStv channel 322.
For the third year running MTV Base has appointed a panel of industry experts to judge Hip Hop’s "King of the scene” for 2016. This year’s session will be mediated by seasoned Hip Hop head, Proverb, with input and insights from veteran MC and producer Amu; UJFM’s The Forum host Spokenpriestess, DJ & producer DJ Capital, legendary rapper and founder of SlikourOnLife Siya Metane, as well as SA Hip Hop Awards’ supremo Rashid Kay. Master lyricist Tumi will also be on hand, sharing and explaining the 6 key criteria that the panelists will weigh up which are: impact, lyrics, sales, buzz, style and other ‘intangibles’ that make them stand out from the crowd.
