Australian based, South African artist Neo Pitso quietly dropped a single on SoundCloud titled “City of Welkom” on Thursday 4th August, to celebrate reaching 20 000 fans on Facebook. Fresh from his visit to South Africa the Welkom native found it fitting to release a tribute to his hometown where he has his largest support base.
Neo has spent the last 2 months in his hometown putting events on for charities such as the Merafong Childcare Centre and the Morningstar Children’s Centre and also visiting high schools around the city for inspirational talks that were very well received.
The new single release also comes hot on the heels of his 4 nominations for the Afro Australian Music and Movie Awards for; Best Rap Artist, Best Hip Hop Act, Best song (Money First) and Best video for his chart topping #1 hit single “We On” ft. Ab Crazy.
The newly released single “City of Welkom” could be an indication of an upcoming project by Pitso. In an interview on OFM a few weeks ago Neo mentioned that he has a surprise for his fans in November which could likely be the eagerly awaited OUTLIER 2.
