Part 1 - The Biggest Come Ups From 2015 In No Particular Order

By @Slikour on 12/02/2015 in

These are artist and Djs who were not in our radar last year or if they were they hadn't delivered any music that got people talking.

1.Nasty C
alt Do I have to say much about Nasty? Launched to the early adapters through the Price City Mixtape and the rest of the country caught up later with smash hit Juice Back. While everyone was asking whats next out of the blue the 19 year old rapper announced the remix which featured one of SA's (Cassper Nyovest) and Nigerias (Davido) biggest artists on the feature. Davido not only featured on the track but get this exclusive the homie also paid for the video. Other career defining moments for Nasty was the Dj Switch Way It Go with Tumi and Youngsta. The Juice Back remix had close to 50,000 downloads in one day making it the most downloaded track in 24 hours on this site. Its fair to say that Nasty has a promising future in 2015.

2.Emtee
alt In all honesty Roll Up was more popular than Emtee but its one of those songs that will define a generation so much that the author has to be known. Like Nasty C Emtee has also received a co-sign from South Africa and Nigerias biggest youth artists on the remix of Roll Up. His album dropped last weekend named after his baby.Emtee's roll up received close to 35000 downloads in one day making it the second biggest download on this site. We know wait for 2016 to see the dominance of

3.Fifi Cooper
alt Straight out of Maftown with a sick ass flow Fifi dominated this last quarter with her single Kisses. Yes the single was a bit on the soft side of things but Fifi can spit. All you need to do is search for her videos on YouTube and you'll see the flow is ill.

4.Stilo Magolide
alt Last year Stilo was more like an extra on the Amantombazane Remix, he was just one of the BoyzNBucks guys on the Umsenkofontein track. In 2015 Stilo took matters into his own hands and broke away from the shadow of the crew to create his own niche. What we got was a whole load of grills, a cocktail of sounds varying from "More" to "Mr Party" and his latest mixtape project Camron Diaz. Being a part of BoyNBucks is an advantage if you come correct and Stilo definitely hit the nail earning him some big bucks from Castle Lite for the Ziyabanda campaign. Do the people want see some MORE of Stilo in 2016? Hold that More response for next year.

5.WolfPack
What a year for Durban and the Wolfpack not only did Aewon Wolf take over the scene with Week Ago but then Shekinah and Kyle Deutsch dropped Back To The Beach which has almost 330,000 views on YouTube a huge feat for two new artists. If that was not enough WolfPack dominated our screens with the Cell C summer campaign and then DSTV used Back To The Beach as a synch. So much achieved by the gang hopefully 2016 is superstardom I mean they already cashing the right cheques.
