Is this the embodiment of "rhythm and poetry"? I think so. I needed you to see this video. It's so magic. The beat is intentionally dramatic, accompanied by Emeli's sweet melodic singing and Aine Zion's effected spoken work in the opening and closing. Jay Electronica really shows up with his stop-everything-you're-doing-and-listen type of verse. It's sheer poetry really.
Can we talk about the messages in the visuals? The black love couples. The drama in the way that love is depicted by the dark and twisted looking characters yet showing just how powerful and deep their love goes. It's amazing.
