You know what they say about dreams right? They do come true and this is testament with Dave East as he recites in It Was Written where he relays the almost miracle of being signed by his idol, Nasir Jones.
We see him reflecting on script, jotting down his lyrics and on a building rooftop at dawn rapping his life. His record deal with Mass Appeal came at a good time for him, and he shares the journey before this change in this joint which is named after Nas' second album It Was Written. You gotta love Dave though, if I was Nas, I'd be proud of a signee like him too.
