Every time I see a rap song title with the word "Pray", my soul literally trips! This is because I know that such songs are usually outlets for beautifully painted pictures of one's pain, reflections and memories. Most importantly, I blindly trust said artist to articulate spiritual elements into hip hop. I am more than pleased with what Rockie Fresh delivered on this heart-in-my-raps joint. Quite literally, Bizness Boi marries a distant church worshipping service with chants, singing and a tambourine in the background to this emotive production. Rocky reflects on some of his mistakes and expresses a great sense of hope, including the hope that Meek and Drake make up. It's such a feel good song, reminding us that we're all human behind the smoke and mirrors and through all the hype. So magical. That saxophone? DONE!
We're expecting two projects from Rockie, now with Casey Veggies titled Fresh Veggies 2 and another titled Electric Highway 2 which he is currently working on. Doesn't hurt to take a prayer break in between.
