This song makes my heart bleed as I just happened to be talking about this loss with my driver the other morning. How life has become so fickle and how people are so consumed by violence and anger now more than ever.
Jovislash takes it upon himself to share his sorrow the only way he knows how to best express himself, through song. Another of his soldiers is down and he uses a guitar tune that the late Dumi Masilela himself played. He "remixes" the common hymn Hamba Nhliziyo for this track as he reminisces on when he first met Dumi, sending his condolences to his family with this send off. His memorial service was held yesterday and while most of us celebrated Women's Day, many of his close friends took to social media to share key lessons from his memorial and what Dumi has left them with forever. My heart is actually unable. Wow.
