Happy birthday to Ice, who just dropped his third album on Friday!
Deemed one of the most lethal darts man in the continent, hailing all the way from Nigeria - Ice Prince Zamani's Jos To The World is out and it varies in sound, yet deliciously packaged for the ear. The well renowned Oleku rapper traces back to those days with the first track Me vs. Me which is bar heavy and sports crisp delivery that mirrors his growth in the music industry and life. It's a dope pace setter for the album and it eases you into the transition of the sound from the boom bap bop-your-head 2 AM in Chevron and Standout to the tune Boss that's produced by the Nigerian sensation Tekno, with a pop dance vibe.
Household names from across the continent, contribute greatly on the project. The talented Tanzanian songstress Vanessa Mdee showcases her singing ability on No Mind Dem which has a melody that was highly inspired by Wizkid's Ojuelegba when you listen closely to the build up of the chorus, then there's the club banger Execellency that has the South African agile dancer and artist, DJ Buckz and Nigeria's finest, Yemi Alade. The Igbo rapper Phyno and the First Lady of The Mavins, Tiwa Savage also add flavour on various tracks.
Another notable feature is Krept and Konan the English rap duo from South London.
The 19 track album is most definitely worth the listen!
