Following the release of “I’m Bout It” in 2014 and the successive drops of “Knock knock” and “Cold” in mid-2015, 66 Beats crossed their musical boundaries yet again to produce ICU’s Summer smash hit single “Papi Chulo”. This song is a fusion of “Rumba” and “Hip Hop” which Ward 66 termed “Rumbop”.
“Papi Chulo” was written by all four members of ICU and features their label mate Dotcom who is South Africa’s very own RnB/Rap sensation. Having recently topped the charts with a number of singles such as “The One” “Pretty Black Rose” “Azishe” and most recently “Phola”, we decided that an in-house feature would be the perfect way to kick off #ICUFridays today.
