Yesterday we lost the life of Hip Hop pioneer and one of the illest rappers to ever come out of New York, Prodigy. The rapper had been on tour in Las Vegas and seemed to be fine on stage. He was later found unconscious after being admitted to hospital and although the cause is still undetermined, many suspect complications caused by sickle cell anemia as the rapper had been suffering from the illness since birth.
News broke out as soon as Nas posted a picture of Prodigy on his Instagram page. Since then, social media has been mourning the loss of the rapper.
Hip Hop fans know Prodigy as one-half of Mobb Deep, along with Havoc. The rappers came in the game with some of the most legendary rappers of all time, thus creating a name for themselves on the music scene. We wish to pay our respects to the rapper's loved ones, King Prodigy forever.
