Expect @MissPattyMonroe Debut Album - Malatjie 27/01/2017

It’s been over a year since Patty Boom Boom dropped her first single Talk produced by Sketchy Bongo, and after the year she's just had in 2016 she's ready to drop her first full length album. It's titled Malatjie derived from the word "Malletjie" an original Cape Coloured slang word meaning - someone not quite right in the head. Being the innovator that she is, she flipped it around and owned the word giving it a new light. If you follow her on social media you'll see that that's how she also refers to her fans and familia as well. To her, "Malatjies" are people who choose to be different and are not confined by any limitation.

Being well travelled and obviously having interacted with numerous sources of insipiration, Patty tags with a dope line up of producers on the album. Renowned Nigerian producer Chopstix is in the count. Uganda's Bushington and the talented Sketchy Bongo, as well as long time collaborator Muzi are on the roster too. She also has Cape Town super maestro Ameen Harron on the books, along with upcoming producers Deemo and Psyc’. To put it plainly, there's no telling what will come out of the already diverse sounding piece. To add to that, Patty has world renowned photographer Sacha Waldman, a man responsible for many an iconic hip hop album covers in the last 2 decades, including 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Trying, translating the album's lyrical content into a piece full of color and contrasts.

Here's what she said about Malatjie, “I had a vision of what I wanted my album to sound, look and feel like, after listening to it once Sacha had IT and delivered above and beyond expectations, super excited for the Malatjies to experience my debut album.” So are we Miss Patty!
