By @Spokenpriestess on 07/18/2017 in

Yesterday the world over celebrated International Mandela Day after Tata's birthday was not only turned into a celebrated holiday in South Africa but across the globe. We saw scores of celebrities and patriots go out in numbers to lend a hand and 67 minutes of love to organisations and causes they held close to their hearts.

Here's what your faves got up to yesterday:

Gigi Lamayne and the Mabala Noise family along with Tiger Brands headed to Zandspruit committing random acts of kindness by handing out clothes, food and toiletries to anyone they came across in the neighbourhood.

The likes of Nadia Nakai, Joshua The I Am, A-Reece, Kid Tini, Miss Pru, KLY, Priddy Ugly, TLT and Emtee spent their day at the Malaika Orphanage on Saturday with Trace Urban hosting a private concert for them. Jub Jub dropped by a school to give some words of courage and love, right before he lent a helping hand in a house that's currently being furnished.

AKA and Reason also used music as a platform for giving by having a show in honour of 267 orphans collecting clothes and food for them under the AKA Foundation banner and MTV Base out at Constitution Hill in Braamfontein.

K.O was out in Witbank celebrating Mandela Day with the honourable Kgalema Motlanthe.

Okmalumkoolkat spent his day lending a hand at a home in Soweto with the Sunday School, and Slimcares Foundations.

Moozlie was hanging out with KFC, DJ Sabby and Danine Naidoo adding hope to the kids.

Proverb used the power of social media to garner RT's in order for Acer Africa to donate an amount to The Haven Night Shelter in Kensington to which he added to by doubling it.

Shout out to everybody that went out in numbers to show love and support to those in need in the name of Nelson Mandela, but most importantly to those who continue to do good every other day!
