We featured Mulalo Teddy's New Skool Rise illustration series mid-2016 where he paid tribute to some of the new skool acts that were blowing up the scene and inspired him. This time around he tackles the smash hit Mayo by DJ Speedsta featuring relatively new break out acts Yung Swiss, Tellaman, Shane Eagle and Frank Casino whom we've had our eyes on for the better half of 2016. DJ Speedsta himself had a massive year closing it with winning DJ of the Year at the South African Hip Hop Awards. Meanwhile, Tellaman's mixtape Mind vs Heart was part of the Top 10 most downloaded projects on SOL last year. Yung Swiss and Frank Casino also shared their projects Bottom Baby and Something From Me respectively. Shane Eagle on the other hand really showed up with his strong lyrical focus through DJ Switch's Now Or Never movement and songs like Cutting Corners and Top Floor. Look, Mulalo's tribute is well founded!
